Boo!

We embraced the helmet and dressed Kate as a wrestler for the ward trunk or treat. I thought it would be fun for us to dress up too but Bj wasn't into that idea. Although he did suggest we stick with the wrestling theme and dress him as a ref and me as the girl who wears very little clothing and holds up the signs. What a thoughtful and entirely appropriate idea for a church activity.

Since I'm pretty much done with this holiday anyway, I am considering turning off our porch light on Halloween so I can smuggle all of our candy into Time Out For Women this weekend. We shall see.

Happy Halloween!

Arizona State Fair

Tonight we went to the good ol' fair w/ the Gremillions and Beau. Walked around, tried lots of freaky fried fair food, saw some fat animals and rode the ferris wheel. Sadly, overpriced fried fair food just isn't as delicious as I recall it being from my teen years. Tragic. On the upside I've now sampled fried snickers, chocolate covered bacon, sausage on a stick, a corn dog, roasted corn and a turkey leg. I'm so accomplished, you should probably be jealous.

Yep.

The babe had a bit of a flat head. So we did what we had to do. Actually her pediatrician said she didn't have to get a helmet. After all, his daughter has a super flat head. And now that she's 12, as long as she isn't wearing pigtails, it's not that noticeable, not really anyway. Hhmm about that. Kate sort of hates it but is getting used to it. It can't be comfortable, so for her sake I hope the next 8 weeks fly by. I think she's diggin' the new paint job though.

4 months

at 4 months kate:

height: 90th%
weight: 50th %
head: 50th %

on her 4 month mark kate started rolling over. still hates tummy time. this month she started a few things that i think are kinda fun. she holds onto my fingers, shirt, or hair while i hold her. her hand coordination is getting a lot better and she can almost hold her own bottle. she has started to look at me for direction on how she should react to something, she has only done it a few times but it's pretty cute. still not a big cuddlier unless she isn't feeling well, but sometimes she will nuzzles into my neck or lay her head down on my shoulder when she is tired. she still turns into super beast when she is over-tired. loves when i read to her and has started to show interest in some toys. she thinks weird noises are funny and thinks its hilarious when you bounce her up and down. she LOVES the abc's and gets the biggest grin on her face when we sing them to her. she is super ticklish and will laugh really hard the first couple of times you tickle her somewhere but then she gets used to it and will just stare at you until you pick a new spot to tickle. she loves her daddy and sitting her bumbo. shoes have finally started to fit her. wears 3-6 month old clothes. i'm writing this a little late, but at 4 months she was still waking up once a night to eat. she talks all the time, especially when she is tired. sometimes when she is tired (before beast mode sets in) she gets slap happy and will crack up at anything we say or do, it is the funniest thing ever. this month has been so fun. naps and sleeping have not been as consistent as i would like but i guess its part of the process. she is such a laid back little babe with the sweetest personality. i thank heavenly father every night that she is ours forever. i'm one lucky mama.

love her mid-meal smiles.

perfect little button nose
