the secret language of babies

well right now im watching oprah and it is so interesting. its about "the secret language of babies"...i dont know how legit it is, but its pretty cool...so all ofyou new mothers and mothers to be, yall should find it online and watch it. ive never been a huge oprah fan, but ive been recording her lately and her shows are always pretty entertaining. but you know whos show is NOT entertaining? tyra banks. i hhhaaattteeeee her show so much. i dont know why, but it drives me nuts.

well not to much has been going on with us. we finished finals today..wooo hooo. tuesday i finished all of our christmas shopping and while i was out i also got this really cool oil warmer from bath and body works. i really enjoy good smells, and this thing works great. once i light it, my apt smells good in like 10 min. its great.

every winter they bring out a few festive scents for lotions and stuff, my favorite being winter candy apple. and if you happen to have an oil warmer thing, they have oil in that scent right now. so, i suggest getting some before the season is over. haha.

we are very not festive this year. i loooooove the holidays, but for some reason this year all we have put up is this snow man candy bowl that i keep chocolate in....for bj of course. haha. eh oh well, there is always next year :)

The Youngs Biggest Winner!!!!!

bj and i have decided to have a little friendly competition. we recently bought gym memberships (two days ago)....he would like to gain 10 pounds, and i would like to lose 10 pounds.....so tonight we started THE YOUNGS BIGGEST WINNER program! haha. there are no specific rules, just whoever gets to their goal first wins and gets x amount of money to do what they please with. SO, wish me luck guys! if yall have any advice on how to drop weight fast....pass it my way! ill keep yall updated on how its going...wooo hooo!

and this was us at 5am the morning after getting her, which was also a sleepless night by the way.....i think bjs exact words were "screw children, we are never having them"....hahah.

scrapbooking

so ive decided to take up a new hobbie- scrapbooking. bj and i recently picked out a scrapbook together. ive been looking up different ways to scrapbook and looking at magazines, websites ect....and i am super excited! im not sure i will be that good at it but i cant wait to start! if yall have any tips or things that would be helpful for a beginner scrapbooker- let me know! ps...scrapbooking always reminds me of heather (john) himmer. partly because i know she loves scrapbooking and even has one of those scrabooking roll bags (i secretly want one now)..haha... but it MOSTLY reminds me of her bc she had her car stolen one day while working at a scrapbook store...haha....as i was typing that i realize that unless heather herself has told you the story, you are probably thinking im mean....so if you know heather, get her to tell you the story. its hilarious.

christmas music....

...today was the first time of the season for me to hear christmas music. i found it a little odd though considering how early is it. but, i wont argue bc i love love love this holiday season. i have alot of catching up to do...so here i go! a few weeks ago bj went back to his mission for a baptism of a guy he taught while he was there. some guys from his mission met him out there and they had a blast. he was there all weekend and loved every second of it. bj served spanish speaking in roseville, california. the areas he served in were very poor, high in crime and there were like 2 white people in the whole place. keep that in mind, so, when he got home from his trip he asked me if i would ever consider moving there because the people are so great and he loves the place so much. how cute is that?? it only made me love him more and i LOVE that he loves his mission so much, but i had to pass on that offer. haha... and just a little side note that i think is so funny, he has also asked me multiple times if we can speak mostly spanish in the home when we have kids (i dont even know spanish...haha) AND he is watching the latin grammys right now as i type. seriously. hahaha.

a week after bj returned home from california we went to san diego to take off on our first cruise! it was a company cruise (for the company bj worked with this past summer)and was great. it was four days, with one day in cabo san lucas. we dont have any beach pictures because our camera turned on in our bag on the airplane on the way there and was almost dead by the time we got on ship..how lame, i know. anyway, the cruise was great...except for the small detail that i ate my weight in food on the ship. it was seriously WRONG. haha. i kid you not. they had buffets all the time, including an ice cream bar that was open 24-7 and you could order 12 dinners if you wanted.....when we got home bj told me that the cruise brought out a whole new side of my appetite and that he had never seen this side of me. haha. he actually said that. haha.

on our way off the boat we met a couple that had gone on 109 cruises.....can you imagine? i would be as big as a whale if i ever did that. haha. bj and i decided that overrall cruises are so great, but next time we will choose one that stops a few more times bc being on the boat too long can give you cabin fever. or at least thats what it did to us.

and this....well this has nothing to do with the cruise....but i had to post it. tuesday on our way home from school we saw a horse cop, and he actually had someone pulled over! haha...it made us laugh so we took a picture. too funny......

i just sat down to write a nice, long blog...but bj got a call from some guy for a job he is doing for him, so this is going to be cut short. BUT, tomorrow there will be a long long blog with lots of pictures for all of you to look at :). until then, here is a picture just because pictures are fun. we carved pumpkins a while back and ended up in a pumpkin gut war...this was the out come. haha.

Happy birthday bradley!!! bj's birthday was last thursday, the big 22! woo hooo!!!! i wanted for everything to be a surprise for him that day but either im really bad at keeping a secret or he is good at guessing whats gonna happen....so none of it was really a surprise but we still had fun! we skipped class and went rock climbing that afternoon at dyno rock in arlighton. i had been rock climbing before in provo, but it was the kind where you dont use harnesses or anything so its only your strength, which i dont really have, so it was kinda lame. but THIS time we were able to use harnesses and stuff and we had so much fun! my fingers were killing me by the end of the afternoon but i think we will def. go do it again.

that night we went to eat with bj's family and i was going to bring my camera but i totally forgot. it was really fun thought. they made bj hold salt and pepper shakers, and shake everything except the shakers while they sung their birthday song. haha....bj of course started shaking everything and our waitress, who was black, stopped singing bc she was so surprised by the way he danced..or maybe that he was dancing at all.. haha. it was pretty funny.

aside from that we have just been doing the school and work thing....school is going good, but i think our nutrition class is gonna be more studying than we thought. brads manager joe came in town this weekend for work stuff... i think it was fun for brad to get to spend some time with a boy. haha. we dont really know anyone in mansfield so it was kinda nice to go out with some random people.

so on a different note, iv read a few different places that if you voice your goals to other people, that you are more likely to keep them. SO, after many failed attempts to run every morning, i am now trying this ltitle theory and letting you all know that bj and i are going to start running every morning together! wooo hooo. i really want to run a half marathon at some point. about a year ago i felt the same motivation so i signed up AND paid for one...but my money went to charity bc i never ran it. haha. i jusifed it by saying it was "for a good cause"....haha....SO. yea. if we run every morning, hopefully we will be able to run one sometime in the future. but right now that is not the goal, its just to actually get out there and run everyday. when i dont run i notice such a difference in how much energy i have. so now its out there, and we are sticking to it! anyway...i hope yall are all doing good and im sorry ive been such a sucky blogger lately! i do however read all of yours...so congrats sayme and emily on your new babies...they are so cuteee!!!

hi again!

HELLO all! well we FINALLY have the internet (after 2 weeks of waiting)...and our blog will be back in action! we are back in texas..woo hooo.... living in mansfield ( an hour or so south of denton). we started school a few weeks ago.... our heavy load of weight lifting and nutrition are killing us. haha. just kidding. we were not able to take as many classes as we would of liked but they were pretty much all full.... next semester we will have to make up for it. well anyway, i plan on posting pictures and updating more but me and bj have to go study for a nutrition test we have next week, so i will update when i ahve some more time.. and ill do mariannes tag thing. so...i hope all is good with yall!!!! have a good day!

Kristophers mission call!!!!

YEAAA! today we got to open kristophers mission call.....it was so fun. thanks to three-way we were able to have the whole family on speaker phone while he opened it.

good news.....last sunday i finally was able to make a normal tasting pot roast...hooooraayyy! i followed ambers recipe and it turned out great...so we took some pictures to document the occasion. not much more to say about it...just wanted to let everyone know. haha. thanks amber :)

last night we went down to down town denver to the aquarium. it was nice to get out of the house and feel like normal people again, with the hours brad has its really hard to go do things. we took a million pictures...and here are a few...

so its 7am and i have been up since 4 not feeling well. blech. bj on the other hand is in bed sleeping like a baby. trying to use my time wisely, i naturally decided to get on our blog. haha. i have been sitting here trying to figure outhow to put a picture by our "about us"...and cant figure it out. but since pictures are fun and im bored, im gonna post some.

this was one of our engagement pictures, and the one i wanted to use in the 'about us' part.....so hopefully you will see that up there if i ever figure this thing out.

this was the view from our hotel room on our honeymoon! it was sooo pretty. too bad i was/am afraid of sharks and would only go so far into that beautiful water. haha. on our honeymoon we went on this airboat ride through the everglades and saw all these animals....including alligators! sick. haha. they were big and there were lots of them. but it was actually a really fun ride.

after the air boat ride, we went to this alligator show. at the end we got to take pictures with this little guy. thank goodness bj didnt mind holding it, bc there is no way i would of held it. even though its mouth was taped up, alligators give me the hebi-jebies. eek.

2 blogs in one day.... im not sure exactly what that says about me. haha. but i wanted to get some help! so today is the second time i have tried to make a pot roast since i have been married....and it also happens to be the second time it has come out tasting like rubbery crap....and bj...oh sweet bj..haha.. he pretends to actually like it. haha. so, if anyone has a good crock pot recipe, and would like to give me a very detailed version of it....that would be just great! ... thank you and goodnight!

first blog....

well hello everyone. i had been flirting with the idea of getting a blog for a while....and now that marianne has gotten one, i just decided to do it. im not sure how often ill write, or if they will be entertaining....but at least it will be some way to keep in touch with some of yall i dont see very often. today has been just a lazy sunday....i am loving our calling in nursery, i have a blast. our class is the 2 year olds, and they are soooo funny. there is one kid in there that seriously talks like that old guy off of water boy that just talks giberish. i kid you not. its hysterical. haha. today i went out of the nursery to do something, and i came back in to find bj sitting there playing "horsey" with two kids on each leg...they were all yelling and laughing...it was so cute.

anyway... bj and i are going to watch happy feet now because he has never seen it. so farewell!
